The Vulcan Mega Bolter surely is worth its cost.
If you battle a foe like Tyranids or chaos it's essential to
have at least one titan equipped with it.
Mega Bolter and Inferno Gun have the same range and to hit roll but
the Inferno Gun template means that you can not spread your attacks
over a wide area. Any expirienced player would exploit that weak point.
8 attacks is massive and your opponent surely will think about charging your
titan.

Mega Bolter cost is o.k.
Inferno Gun (ignoring cover .. I don't know (reduce/keep?)
