Hi!

A similar rule exsists in the dirtside II game and it works fine there. I
have wondered myself why they have to automatically destroyed all the time
when the APC takes most of the pounding.

Your rule is the simplest and gets to the heart of the matter. Also all
armies could enjoy this, thus its not a benefit of one over the other.
