Sorry SNEW, and Josh!

Can't agree with you!
--->that's OK. I already know I'm right, and you're wrong. 8)

Exarchs, Terminators and the like are the BEST the galaxy has to offer.
These troops are made to take down anything! Even titans, if need be.

-->This is certainly the case against other infantry, and everyting else
up to Praetorians. Once you get into Praetorians and Titans, it's a
whole new ball game. The tactics, equipment, and training are all
radicaly different from a normal battlefiled. A similar (if poor)
analogy is trying to take a ship at sea. regular army units, even
special forces types, aren't really good at it. Chances are that they're
going to flub it somewhere along the line, and get their butts kicked. I
can easily see a specialist unit whose specific purpose is to take out
Titans. I'm sorry, but it's going to take more than krak grenades and
bolt pistols to damage a Titan, even up close and personal. regular
assault troops, including ternies and exarchs just aren't properly
eqipped to do the job, nor are they designed to. Just because they're
the best against units of their own class, doesn't mean that they're good
against things out of their class.

Even Imperial Guard, although weenies when compared to a Space Marines,
are really the cream of thier respective planets armed forces. These
units ARE as elite as our elite armed forces, on modern day earth.
Perhaps more so, and with better equipment.

-->I don't see this as the case either. most IG units are conscripts,
raised by the local governor, to be sent to wherever the latest hot spot
is. they are about as elite as US troops in 1942, as evidenced by their
performance at Kasserine Pass. The IG have a very high casualty rate, as
their main strength is in numbers, and not much else (except the variety
of equipment at their disposal).

Titans are just super tough, as they SHOULD be, compared to ANY infantry
or vehicle. You can only make a man so strong, using armor, and retain
the ability to be small enough to enter buildings, and the like.

-->Exactly. If assault troops can't destroy a building, how can we
reasonably expect them to take down a Titan/ is Plascrete really that
much stronger than a Titan's armor? Infantry should have a chance (if
rather slim) to damage a Titan. They would need either specialized
equipment, or mass quantities to manage to do so though. A Titan's
defenses include more than just the Electro-hull, and AP weaponry, but
the crew, and any transported units inside (where applicable), who can
grab a bolt pistol, or laspistol, and shoot at those pesky infantry types
through windows/portholes/what ever.

If you want Anti-Titan Infantry, look no further than the knights. One
man in a Very Super suit. But, then again, that man isn't an infantry
unit, anymore.

-->well, yes and no. Knights really are only really big termies, with
upscaled weapons. But they are more than just super-infantry, as you
point out. but a small, specialized detachment, properly equiped and
trained, could do the job of several stands of regular assault types.
Now these specialists wouldn't fare that well against regular infantry,
but against their intended targets, they'll do just fine. really, the
idea of specialized anti-Titan infantry could spell the difference in
all these rules debates. the creation of one unit, versus the idea of
altering the rules.
