I think you are on to something. I also think that units designated as
artillery would never charge into CC. I have seen thudd guns charged into an
enemy formation to tie it up and thought "Cheese!!". It broke the attack up
and allowed the defending army a chance to regroup. The tactics were sound
but the unit shouldn't have been allowed to do this normally--maybe the
morale check before charging into CC would have made this more realistic.
