I did some minor checking before I replied to this thread, though it
seems things may have moved beyond where I was/am...
A few notes of the Rebel Legions of SM's:
Khorne: World eaters, Nightlords
Nurgle: death Guard
Tzeentch: Thousand Sons
Slaanesh: Emperor's Children, Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion
No Patron: Word Bearers*, Black Legion (aka Luna Wolves, aka Sons of
Hours)
*Worbearers are listed as "no patron" even though they usually get lumped
in with the Khorney guys (Per Slaves to darkness).

We know about the "Big Four" traitor Legions, as they are defined by
existing company cards, lots of fluff, and other assorted bits here and
there. So, I'll just move on to the others...

Nightlords: Night Haunter's Legion. Basically, they're insurgents,
guerrilla troops. At least as how I read them. They operate in smaller,
decentralized units.

Iron Warriors; Siege specialists. they excel in destroying
fortifications, fortresses, planets, whatever. They blow things up real
well. They are heavy armor and weapon types. With a fairly strong Close
Combat ability for trench fighting, and the exploitation of a breach in
defenses. The defensive specialist legion are the Iron hands, a loyalist
legion.

Alpha Legion: OK, there's not much on these guys. But, they are
probably the best organized of the traitor legions. Nothing special
really about them, except that they are in a constant pissing match to be
as good as the others. Be tempting to make a company card for them as a
regular SM battle company, except with CSM stats.

Word Bearers: The priests of Chaos. A special for them should be they
get chaplains, 1 per company, and any CSM company can buy 1 Word Bearer
Chaplain at 150pts. As they were originally THE guys spreading the word
of the Emperor (to the point of ignoring their military duties), they
shouldn't be that great in battle, but still fairly tough.

There are of course later additions of SM chapters to the list of
traitors, but let's handle the original bad guys first, then the johnny
come latelys...
