Not engineer, but a fortification company. IIRC the French army had these in
the last great international live-ammunition excercise ;-). They had plenty
of MGs but lacked transports. Also, the Soviet army had "fortification
divisions" which had the same firepower as infantry divisions but very poor
mobility.

This could be a unit unique and well suited to PDF.
