Hi,

by close combat oriented, are you referring to CC shields and CAF modifiers,
not
attacks which affect other units than the psycher/magi itself?

Hi!

You are correct 8 eight objectives is the norm. If you want to increase
lethality of your games (and the length) you lower the amount of objectives.
The games take longer but it gives you a better chance to test and army. As
my own rule I never use 8 objectives unless the game is 5000+. Smaller games
with 8 objectives is too easy to win by avoiding the enemy and grabbing as
many as you can first turn and then break a support card or two for the 45
VP needed to win.

With the sole exception of the chaplain, all units with special powers may
not use them in close combat UNLESS the power is close combat related. Its a
good general rule.

Hi
Thanks for the battlereport. Good to see that the slann is taking shape! We
will test the rules further in our 10K game saturday.

I have one question though, you played a 4k game with 3 objectives, shouldnt
it be 8? How did you work around that?

We have just finished a 5k game squats vs chaos and a question came up: Can
the chaos magi use their psykic power when they are in CC?

One of the powers is to give opponents a penalty in CC. Due to the nature of
this power it seems OK to use when the magi is in CC, but to use the use of
other powers smells a kind of gorgonzola to me....
