1) Break points, victory points: it's often useless to shoot at broken
units, it won't give you any VP (unless tou play bugs, of course). It's
a fairly common mistake the beginners do. Shoot at one unit until it is
broken, then at another. Don't divide your firepower if you don't want
to lose.
2) It may seem obvious, but choose unit you'll use during the game.
Some player are accustomed to taking plenty of unit they don't use,
simply because they don't know what to do with them. That why IMHO
polyvalent units are the best.
3) Have a battle plan and follow it!

The greatest game I've played was a 12000 points one. We were 6 players
(3*4000 Orks versus 4000 Eldars, 4000 Squat and 4000 TL), we had a huge
battlefield and the battle was really interesting, with plenty of new
developpements. Each general was responsible of its 4000 points
detachment, and it needed a very good coordination.
But such a game still is an exeption and we use to play 4000 points
games in my gaming group.

"Cheese" is very relative. In my gaming group, taking Magnus the Red or
3 units of Wave Serpent in a 4000 points game could be considered as
cheese (we have no equivalent to this word in French, we use the word
"fair-play").
I've personaly never seen a *cheesy* army, such as the ones which are
discribed in some posts of the mailing-list. I suppose it's because we
all are reasonable in my gaming group. In fact, cheese is only a problem
of individual behaviour.

Very funny.
