Becuase there is not yet a race in existence cool enough to be worthy of
Tool!!!

Actually, the sound is definitely appropriate for the Titan Legions, or
Imperial Gaurd Super-Heavy tank companies -- slow and menacing. The thing
is, although I'm a big fan of bands like Tool, Alice in Chains, etc., they
haven't come up because their lyrics aren't really appropriate as a theme
for any of the WH40k races -- too angsty and introspective. The reason
Metallica is mentioned so often is because their lyrics, particularily the
early ones, are suitably sophomoric; about killing things, stuff blowing
up, and general ominous ranting. Perfect for Chaos, and Space Marine's too,
to a certain extent (although I bet a lot of space marine chapters go in
for Gregorian chanting, with suitably psychotic lyrics).
