Exactly the point the story was trying to make. I must have done
something right
(for a change).
On a related note, IMHO even when they win, the Revolution is always
betrayed. Look at the late-unlamented-USSR. Look at the original US
Constitution ( Income Tax FORBIDDEN as a cornerstone of it ). Read the
correspondence between Adams and Jefferson up until their simultaneous
deaths 50 years after the Revolution to see how the USA was going in
strange directions the original Revolutionaries never intended or
imagined.
Makes me glad we're both living Federated Dominions :) The whackoes of
the Militia movement are right, they're kindred to the firebrands in
1776, not that many USAians would admit it. Fortunately, there were
moderates such as LtCol Washington* who "took charge". But see the
Whisky Rebellions in the 1780s, Aaron Burr etc.
* Who was given the title 'General' by the Traitors. PS The world is a
far better place for them having won, IMHO.
