Sauron1 writes; The original GW were Heavy Metal Gothic fans, leather
jacket crowd(bikers actually ).The artwork of the time reflected their
mindset. But actually the new female SM codex shows the same old style in
the cover illustrations. Those weird characters in the background could
have been lifted from the 80,s illustrations for ant GW/SM book. Doesn't
anyone in the Imperium bath or change their threadbare clothing or repair
damaged armor? Those of use who stay with Epic2nd do so because of the rule
changes we do not like, staying with, or house ruling Wargame rule systems
is a common practice. There are probably many who still play WRG 5th
edition Ancients or the original Napoleonoc Empire rules. As long as every
one plays by the same rules when you wargame, who cares what version it is?
Most of GW,s new metal is quite good, and can be incorporated into Epic2nd.
The woods rules are better in Epic2nd, but the firefight/CC,rules are
better in Epic40k, and the artillery barrage rules are totally confusing in
both, especially AFTER the official rulings(then and now). The last Metal
Warlord had a boxy carapace and was a transition between the old Turtle
back and the new Titan. Maybe the Adeptus Mechanicus got a new Leader. The
new Eldar Titan has gone back to the designers twice now. But I hear the
Eldar and one other race might get their own expansion pack like they have
done with all their other 40k products, plastic buildings and all. At least
I hope so. sauron1
