howdy, all!
i'm an FNG on this site, but have been playing SM/Epic for many years...
started right at the transition from 1st to 2nd ed.
so why reinvent the sytem? several of my friends and i still use 1st ed
sequence of play, and have even added the same type of rulings as you,
with each side alternating unit movement within each phase.
it works quite well and gives a *much* better feel for integrated move and
fire
(as an aside, i even convinced some of them to use the same sequence for
40K with excellent results! thats how i lured some of them into Epic!)
