I have to agree here.
My Dark Angels are painted DA green, drybrushed with a DA green/Yellow mix.
Then I paint all weapons (this includes vehicle weapons) red with orange
highlights. This can lead to interesting paint jobs, for example, all of my
predators have bright red turrets. This colour scheme really makes the
marines stand out.
I remember a quote form the 40000 Compendium basically saying that marines
don't need camo since they have no need to hide.
Anyway, just my thoughts.

You should definately paint gun shrouds/casings and autolaunchers bright
red. Otherwise they look like Imperial Guard. See the current GW WH40K
Predator's Dark Angel paint scheme for an example. It looks nothing like
a Marine vehicle, where the traditional red markings would distinctly set
it apart from an IG tank.
