Here is a couple more ideas. I don't know what army you play,
but I'm assuming imperials.

Assault troops in Thunderhawks.
Banzi! Can't shoot an army that's all airborn.
(This is the best option, cheesy, but it's the rapid deployment
force)

Assault troops in rhinos, do the wicked high move thing.

Lots of supprot weapons with rinhos to get them in range. At 13
pts a AT shot, they are a better deal than LR's, per shot at
least.

For orks:
Lots and lots and lots of boys/nobs. Make fairly small
detachments so they can't all be suppressed. Swarm. Don't know
if this work, but it would be interesting.

For eldar:
Lots and lots of swooping hawks/warp spiders, they can make if
first turn. Or put them in falcons and unload them after the
movement phase. He may shoot the falcons.
Eldar are kinda a close assault army now anyway.

Support weapons might work....maybe.

Aspects in vampires, if you got em.
