Try watering down some shadow grey and washing with that.

I've wanted to do this, but I can't paint a white figure with any
kind of detail at all. Do you just paint 'em solid white, or is
there any washing/highlighting that you can do to bring out the
detail? A black wash makes the thing gray for me, and I just
have not had any luck drybrushing white. The pictures of GW's
Howling Banshees show white with dark detail in between, similar
to Stormtroopers' white armor with black in between the plates.
I'd like to be able to do that.
