-----> OK, new thread:
The Eldar, being one of the earliest races for me in SM/TL are somewhat
near & dear to my heart, and I was encouraged by the look of the new
Falcon & OK with the new Wave Serpent. Having some Tempests, I anxiously
awaited the new superheavy vehicles arrival to see where they went.
>OUCH<
Having just perused the new WD with all the nid and Eldar stuff in it, I
gotta say "them's ugly"
The fluff talks about "ungainly human vehicles"...well sit one of those
new hack jobs next to a land raider and I think it's not a walkover as
to which one is "ungainly". Those things just have a big gun stuck on a
tank hull like some kind of improvised orky/human/chaos weapon. There
are German SP guns from WW2 which look more "integrated" than these
things. Sheesh.
I also want to know what the heck they were doing when they sent out
those new dreads. Where did all those ridges come from? Everyone else's
dreads look chunky, the Eldar were smooth, but now they look like some
ork bolted on a few extra armor plates before marching into battle.
As to the Avatar, which someone else blasted earlier, well , it could be
worse. Actually I think that now the ORIGINAL avatar with the spear may
be just about the right size, and he looks better (IMO) than the new
one.
While I'm blasting mini's I think the new Orky dreads look stupid too.
something's out of proportion there compared to the actual WH40K model
(or to the old epic mini's, for that matter). I like dreads, and this
one was another big disappointment.I think the marine Dread is the only
one so far to come out better than the old in Epic, thought the old
metal epic marine dreads are still cool.
Anyone else have any beefs with these?
