        Standard GW method for rolling 7+ on 6-sided dice: For every
six you roll, roll that die again. Your final score depends on what
you got for the 2nd roll -

        1-3 4 5 6
        --- - - -
         6 7 8 9

So to roll a 7, you need to first roll a 6 then a 4+.
