    I would suggest a power controller from an old train set. Use ceramic
insulators and include tension adjustments because the wire stretches
slightly over time. A fine hand/manual hacksaw,scroll saw frame will work .
The inexpensive 'Flower Cutter' that the craft shops sell is made of
aluminum and card board with two "D" cells for power.
