        Leave them on the sprues, this makes for easier handling while
painting.The first thing I do is wash them in a mild dish soap solution
to remove the manufacturing lubricant and then prime them with a fine
white mist coat. I hate to admit it but Citadel and Ral-partha make a
great but expensive white primer.I them wah them with the base colour of
the Marine chapter and detail only the sholder pads base colour and the
weapons and back-packs. I am far from a great painter, {there are real
masters on this list}, but in Epic scale mass battles, even my poor
effort looks ok.
