By this reasoning you could stick your daemons in Land
Raiders, since they're also in 'the normal Chaos army.'

This is from the WD Q&A in #173:

Q: Can Chaos Space Marines use vehicles and weapon support cards that
are available for normal Space Marines?

A: Yes, before the Chaos Space Marines turned traitor they had access
to all the same equipment as their loyal brothers. It is fair therefore
to assume that a lot of it would still be in use and although some cards
are provided in the Renegades box set there obviously wasn't enough room
to include everything.

[ ie Rhinos, Land Raiders, Landspeeders, THawks, etc are all Chaos
Space Marine equipment, whether it came with a card in Renegades
or not. ]

...It is important to remember that
all this wargear can only be used by the Chaos Space Marines and not any
other race within the Chaos Army. You cannot for example you the
Thunderhawk Gunships to transport Lesser Daemons or mortal followers like
Chaos Squats or Minotaurs.

[ ie you can't stick your Minotaurs in Land Raiders. ]

The full Chaos section of the Q&A is available on my website,
http://www.rpi.edu/~shupes/EPIC.

Yeah, and I have a tactics article from WD which talks about
using Genestealers to get multiple attacker bonuses against the
Imperator. Admittedly it was written by Gavin, but that just goes
to show you that these things can slip past the editor.

Also, before WD 173, there was no rule keeping you from sticking
Trolls in Rhinos - it was perfectly legal.

There's also the Plague Tower, which can transport the
whole warband by itself. Unfortunately it's just as slow as the
Death Dealers (but more resilient).

Depends on how you interpret the fluff. It could go either way.
(realistic? it's an army led by daemons! =)

Why? 40k Chaos is boring beyond belief compared to Epic Chaos.
If all you want to see is Chaos marines with a few daemons tagging
along, then fine, you're perfectly capable of making such an army.

There's two ways because they're two different creatures (in
EPIC at least). Tyranids are just tough, while GDs are fairly tough and
they are strengthened by the power of the Warp.
