The actual size and shape of the base plays little part in the game. The
only time base size is a factor is when cramming units into buildings
and when placing barrage, therefore the longer bases have both pros (the
building) and cons (Barrage and the building thing again). I would not
have a problem with the base size as long as it was not too big or
small, and still had the right number of men on it, you would not be
allowed to play in a sanctioned game however. I cannot take my old style
40K dreadnoughts into a GW game because they are not allowed, so I dread
to think what they would think of my epic army, since I have being
playing since Adeptus Titanicus.
