There is one disadvantage to this: The infantry is within 45 cm of their
target during the shooting phase. (So there may not be much left to
assault with, you definately get BMs on your assault troops so they may
not move at all during the assault phase.)

Using only one det means:
movement phase: 30 cm
assault phase: (30-5)cm transport + (15*3-5)cm hawks = 65 cm
total: 95 cm
advantage: You can be out of 60 cm weapon range during the shooting phase!

I always use the one det option with my Eldar just because the troops work
better that way.
