Go to any good Model Railway store, and there are literally hundreds of
them in the UK. There's a Z-gauge (1/220) "House on Fire" upgrade kit
for the Kibri model that includes a flikering lightbulb and socket, and
another upgrade that generates smoke. Both require 12V, but a group of 4
AA batteries and a x2 voltage converter would do the job. The smoke
generator would be a power hog, it vapourises oil, but the light should
be practical.
