If I might toss in a few words here....

Word has it that, while there are people (Andy Chambers in particular, I
b'lieve) who want to release Battlefleet Gothic and, in fact,
occasionally work on it/playtest rules (like fighters!), the momentum in
the company is currently against it. The Space Fleet minis are selling
pretty well through mail order, so GW doesn't feel much need to release
a game to promote them. Kinda unfortunate, but then the space ship game
market *is* pretty full (Full Thrust, with FT3 currently in beta test;
B5Wars; the Earth Force sourcebook for the B5 RPG; Silent Death; Star
Fleet Battles... and that's just off the top of my head, not to mention
home-brew and smaller games like what Thane was talking about).

Not to mention, if GW did decide to re-release Space Fleet/BFG, I'd hate
to think what they might do to the Eldar ships; I *really* hate the E40K
Eldar flyers, and the thought that the Space Fleet minis might get
resculpted to something like them... ick.
