Ok.....over the weekend, as a break from Genericon XI (memories Scott?),
played a 10,00 point battle versus the bugs. I got stomped, unceremoniously.
This was done using a bastard version of the SM/TL and E40K rules (Combat
rules from SM/TL with the detachment rules from E40K), and it worked against
me.
    Using a combined IG/SM army, only my SH tank company survived. To
summarize, I was overwhelmed by numbers and superior tactics (and die rolls).
The bug player managed to isolate my detachments and eliminate them. The only
effective unit was the SH's, and was overwhelmed by Bio-Titans and hordes and
hordes, and hordes of genestealers.
   I don't have my stuff handy, so this is by memory (which is failing). The
bug flyers, gargoyles, scragged my artillery in the second turn, after I had
lost initiative, and things went downhill from there. The termies held out
for a turn in the powerplant, but eventually went down. I'll post more when I
