Watch it... I'm "pretty heavily involved in the SCA" and I'm not nuts!!!
(I may think that E40K is a work of the devil, but I'm NOT nuts... :-)

I kinda wonder if the KIND of role playing in Vampire games isn't the issue.

(All levity aside) Role playing can be a powerful psychological tool and I
wonder if it is healthy to be role playing sick, evil, twisted, depraved
monsters doomed to eventual damnation with no hope of salvation...

(For those who haven't seen the system, there is a "Humanity" stat which
denotes how far the character has sunk toward "damnation" - if the stat
reaches zero, the character is an irredemable monster and is retired from
the game or becomes a non player character. It is considered inevitable
that this reduction in humanity will occur, although in my experience I have
never seen it happen - the stat reaches a point where the character is able
to commit "all but the most unspeakable acts" and stabilises about there.)

(Levity returning) Naturally, I have played Vampires for years and I am
quite immune to any psychological damage...
