Nobody here much cares how you base them. The only problem might be
trying to use much smaller bases than normal so you can get in a lot
more fire. Or course, you'd also be more subject to barrage.

A unit of bikes and such are 3 miniatures on a stand. They die
together, just like 5 guys on a stand of infantry.
I would leave the 2 bikes on a stand if you like 'em. I never painted
my bikes, so I still have a choice. I think I am going to either put 3
on a stand (to get more stands) or put 2 on a stand the same size (as
opposed to putting 2 on a square infantry stand, which looks crowded to
me).
