I think this is a good way to play. I've recently met an Epic player at
Lyon (France) and the first thing he asked me was : "Don't you think
that a whole Imperial army (SM+IG) is too powerful?" (we were speaking
about SM/TL of course)...
In Epic 40k, this less true as your Strategy Value is modified if you
take allies.
