Well, I can't come down too hard on either version as there are parts
of both that I like, but I can't stand mixing them.

I will however , take issue with one thing: the bogus "top five" award list
posted a while back means zip to me. I've never heard of the group
sponsoring it, which makes me suspicious considering how long I've been
kicking around this kind of stuff.

Another thing: E40K sales are nowhere near their other big games. Right now
40K, Fantasy, and GorkaMorka sales blow it away. I see a lot of half-empty
racks in stores, and they've been that way for a while because the owners
won't put any more $$ into it. I see no groups/leagues/regular gatherings of
Epic players, but I see plenty for the other 3. This is pretty sad in my
area (Dallas/Fort Worth) as there are 4 major stores I stop by on a weekly
basis which have gaming rooms, and Epic is a damn rare sight.
Note that I do not say this with any glee as I would like to see Epic played
in any version - it's easier to find players when a game is on the shelf. If
it goes under, I don't think any of us will be happy.

PS If you want to know how a game is doing, talk to several store owners and
some distributor reps, if possible. Some store owner's will try to tell you
a game is doing great even when it's not, but not all of them, and the
distributors can give at least a "regional" view.
