[Epic] New EPIC 40.000 player

While owning the space marine rules for more than 5 years i finaly bought
the epic 40.000 box. I do like the miniatures inside but why are the heavy
weapon marines beakies and is the rest type VII armor ?

Also i notised that an imperial guard detchment may have three troops for
each commander unit and tree commander units (this makes 9
squadrons in the main force) and he may take up to 10? support units but
not more than he has squadrons in the main force????

Also they show a nice shock attack gun but do not tell newbie's what kind
of weapon it is and again it realy looks like the old type (read mold)

And the main question i have is:
Why are there three large sprues with ruins which have a limited use while
they could also have given an third army (Yes i do collect the three army's
from the space marine box)

I know i am late with these comments but mine budget is finaly catching up
with GW but lets not talk about that
