Good Question.
Any Broken unit that ends the Assault / Firefight phase within 15cm of
the enemy after a retreat move is KO.
The question is, what about OTHER retreat moves? I would say No.
Consider the following: A detachment gets broken, and fails to rally. It
then retreats in the normal move phase. If it ends up within 15cm of the
enemy, there's going to be a firefight. If it loses (rather likely), the
units comprising it CAN retreat again, and if at the end of this retreat
any are within 15cm of enemy, are destroyed.

Yes, Broken units have a their FP and AF halved... I think. Sorry,
can't remember and don't have my books handy. It so rarely happens that
anyone I play against fails to have adequate reserves to stop me from
exploiting that I forget.
