Yeah, I agree. I liked the evil empire idea. It brings to mind Michael

Moorcock's Granbreton from the HISTORY OF THE RUNESTAFF (Hawkmoon)

series. In fact, I am certain they drew heavily from that series.

(God-Emperor in a life support system extending his life long beyond

normal, legions of fanatical warriors among which the wolf legion is the

fiercest, a mixture of medieval and advanced technology with magic,...)

Needless to say I was enthralled. The W40K novels has some great ideas

and I enjoyed the games. I was surprised and a little disapointed that

there was no "good guy" amongst the races. Well, the only sane group

looked to be the Space Dwarves. Whoops, I mean the (now defunct) squats.

All the other races are xenophobic or worse. Except maybe, my Tyranids,

their just hungry :] Originally the Knights were from independent

colonial worlds and had closer ties to the Exodite Eldar than the

Imperium. Hopefully they will get back to that story line and

reintroduce the Knight worlds.

Anyway, just wanted to get my "me to" in and reminisce about the "old

days".
