Yes I used often this strategy in the past, but you must waste some
points
only to protect your valuable pieces, I suggest to use some "sniper"
that are
multi-purpose element, so you are free to use them against charging
troops or
whatever you want, anyway I know that eldar skimmers are best doing
this, but even
in the other armies there are something equally useful
