That came later, in the second volume of RoC. My take on the change in
location is that someone drew the Really Cool(tm) picture of Horus vs.
the Emperor, with the Earth hanging in the window/viewscreen behind them
and Sanguinius on the floor, so GW just *had* to change the history to
match. Basically, Rogal Dorn came in after the Emperor finished off
Horus, and brought the New MAn back to Terra....

Yup, him and all but 70 Marines out of the five chapters he was leading
at the time....

Yup, and the only aspect available was the Swooping Hawk....

<grin>

If you want changes in history, you should look at the Ultramarines
chapter. Way back in WD ~110 or so, they talked about the chapter...
how ineffective the leader of the chapter was, and the chapter was
actually run by his second-in-command... the half-human, half-eldar
navigator (though I'm kinda glad they dropped that one)... a couple
other things. I think Dartfrog's got some of that on his web page,
somewhere, though I don't recall the URL.

Um, he got rid of the Daemonic influence with the psyblast, and then had
to kill Horus (with his sword) when he saw that Horus would be
repossessed....
