I've had number of <ahem> interesting aquaintances. You obviously never
met me in my pre-Marine Corps days. I had a goatee, a pony tail , and a
stripe dyed in my hair. So did one of my friends (minus the stripe) who's
now an Army Ranger (one of the special teams, not just airborne), and a
remarkable number of Marines are ex-hippie types. Apparently it's due to
the fact that the "Marine mystique" appeals to the rebels out there.
Never would have seen that one coming . . .
Anyway, I heard about bananas and confirmed it the first time I laid hands
on an _Anarchist's Cookbook_ (I think it was near the recipe for "Pork and
Beans and Pot"). I had also heard you could get high off of nutmeg, and
then saw a report on 60 minutes about Ecstacy that said Psychiatrists were
deriving it from nutmeg.
