Hello,
I've just recently started working with Epic figs... I've played alot
with friends' spare armies (a great way to get new people into the game),
but they finally talked me into buying into it by offering me free
samples, much like drug dealers getting a new customer. Anyway, so far
I'm only working with Ork armies, but I've been doing a fair amount of
customization (after all, da Boyz dont got no stardard troops, 'cept
fer da hoomie-luvin Blood Axes).

I've found that for Extra Spiky Bitz (like horns and such), the best
material is usually the sprues the figures come on. I highly reccomend
saving them, with a sharp knife and some glue you can cut out all sorts
of simple pieces like horns and such pretty easily.

On a side note, its alot of fun with Battlewagons to take some spare
Boyz or Gretchin and cut the round base mountings from their feet, and
mount them on the wagons in improbable positions (sitting on gun barrels,
hanging from smokestacks, etc.). I'm thinking of experimenting with
painted bits of cotton or somesuch so some of the wagons can have
big puffs of black smoke coming from the smokestacks. Any ideas?

No doubt. I definitely think that Blood Axes should have to pay extra
points for SM/Imp. units, to encourage rarity. An extra 5 or so points
per unit (depending on the type of tank) for Blood Axes makes the tanks
still very usefull in small numbers as support to make up for Orks lack of
anti-tank shots, but helps avoid the cheeze of large Ork half SM/Imp.
armour detachments by making it less cost effective.
