Whoa. Sauron actually quoted someone in a reply.

The thing with the square stands has been around since whenever I
started playing epic. The minis just don't fit in right, and have to be
shaved or forced. Little inadvertent tiddlywinks. Was it 1st ed. space
marine with the different colored bases and stick-on banners? Just pop
em in without glue and play with it.

Holes in the new bases are so large you can drop the minis in and spin
them around. Can't possibly get by without glue tho.
