I don't really agree with you Kelvin.
In the 2nd version of Epic Space Marines were not the best army... I
fought Tyranids and Chaos with my army and the battles were very
hard.
In Epic 40k they are a well balanced army (as far as I can judge it).
Of course their weapons are quite good but they cost a lot (how many
Orks can you have for the same amount of points?), on top of that
they don't really have a large range of units (about 20 different
units against 22 for the Orks, 28 for the Eldars,30-35 for the
Chaos...).
Of course GW makes a lot of stuff for the Space Marines but they are
its principal product, aren't they?
