I would tend to agree. The marines pay for most of their goodies, and
they seem relatively balanced. The only exception are the landraiders,
which I do think are underpriced for how good they are (at least compared
to anything in the ork army list).

They don't have a large range of units? The imperials have the largest
range of units in the game! You are comparing half the imperial list
to the entire lists of the other armies, and the numbers are still
coming out close. If you choose not to field half your list, that's
your decision, but you can't say you don't have the option to choose
a wider variety of units.
Look at what is available. the imperials can field every weapon and
specialist type in the book except the race specific ones (lifta-droppa,
ripper tenticles, pulsar and distortion cannon) without fielding allies.
Compare that to the orks, who have no AT weapons, no close support
weapons, no vortex weapons, no flyer-transports, and no heavy artillery
(and their heavy barrages can only be fielded 1 per mega-gargant).
Plus, if that's not good enough, the marines also have their new chapters
available to them which include some powerful and underpriced units (the
blood angel death company), some specialist abilities not available to
any other race (the white scars and dark angels), new detachment
formations and extra souped up marines (spacewolves). And if that's
not enough, they have a new and improved fate card deck that only they
can use.
Exactly what more do you want?
