Whereabouts are you? The next big con in Jersey is ShoreCon at the
beginning of autumn. DexCon is the biggest each year though...

I like to discourage close assaults of my tanks. The vindicators and
hellhounds definitely help keep people looking elsewhere as I field
them in the middle/rear of my other tanks. Plus, when I get into
firefights, their 3FP at 15cm comes in handy. The only tricky part is
keeping the hellhounds from slowing the Leman Russes down. Where
infantry is concerned, I like to let them do the work themselves. :-)

So far, it has worked well.

Hmm... tough to say. His combined detachments were really very tough
and I was quite lucky to take him down. The amount of firepower the
IGs were throwing out was impressive and had my marines been caught out
in the open it would have been the end of me. I think either approach
is equally valid, but I prefer mine for my style of play. If I were
using IG troop formations, I would probably also add some organic armor
and support vehicles.
