I only ever played one game of SM/TL, so I don't have much to compare it=
to.
It seems to me that E40K is much simpler and quicker moving, but perha=
ps
too simple, if you know what I mean.
So, you grizzled vets, what do y=
ou think?...

Gee, talk about your loaded questions. :). Ok, here g=
oes. SM/TL had simpler basic rules, but the rule set as a whole was more co=
mplex. E40K has a complex basic rule set, but the over all rules are simple=
r. Or to put it another way. The base set of common rules, covering things =
such as shooting and close combat was considerably simpler in SM/TL, but th=
e full rules, including all units and less common things, I.e. stuff used b=
y advanced players, was more complex. E40K has failry comblex basic rules, =
but the 'special' or advanced stuff is not much more difficult.
