* I don't think he HATED the older versions, but he has stated that
he wished the game was more streamlined with less special rules. You
have to admit that Adeptus Titanicus in particular got really silly
with the level of detail for a supposed 1:285 game!
* From his POV Epic40K is the "thinking mans" 40K game and previous
versions were too close to the "grunt level" tabletop 40K then he
probably wished.
* I do absolutely agree that the old games hardly lacked strategy -
certainly more the 40K has these days (either you are shooty or
assault - with no real in-between).
