I've played against almost all the old epic Charachters but I've never
found something really strange, unless used with a personal interpretation
of the original rules.
BTW "no characters" is different from "ok but only with well designed
characters", you can use a character only for fun and if (an only if) both
the opponent agree to use them, there is no other reason.
