Hi,

Anyone read Walter M. Miller Jr. 's "A Canticle For Leibowitz"?

It's a quite nice approach of religion and technology mix. I am not used to recommend lectures but this one really impressed me. I think it was written in 1959.

I always looked on it that there were very few who id understand the
technology at all, hence it was percieved as a form of magic. Those who do
understand it beyond the religious chanting etc. of true technology cannot
say so as they'll be labelled Heretics. However, they can use their
knowledge to get very strong positions in the AM so basically keep their
mouths shut about what they kow and their technological discveries in return
for not only their lives but great power as well.

Look on the bright side. If this Summers big campaign goes the way I've
heard, the Machine god will be revealled as a C'Tan. As I recall, Netepic
doesn't acknowledge GW's new Necrons and their new C'Tan so the Netepic
Machine God will surely just implode on itself and there'll be no confusion
  whatsoever! ;o)

  Cheers,
the ever-present but rarely speaking (and that's usually for the best...)
