Hi!

My initial reservations of Warmaster were mainly due to other factors
other than the rules:

1. It was 10mm instead of an expected 6mm game. In retrospect I think
this scale is better for fantasy since they don't have as many vehicles
and "giant" models as epic does. So I think this scale is better.

2. As usual, being a GW I thought it would not get to much support and
didn't want to play a game with little hope for expansion. For a while I
was right, but Fanatic really blew life into this game and now many
armies and units are being constantly put out. Very good!

I think I will get the rules again and play it again, the system looks
much more mature now and adequately supported.

Peter

Peter,
I play warmaster and it is fun. Plain fun. The rules
are simple and the command aspect of the game is
superb. Games last no more than 1.5 hours unless you
play something really big.
Pendraken figs aren't as nice as GW's but they are
cheaper and are a great way to start an army or add to
one. I use Pendraken dwarves with my GW dwarves. They
look out of place but I don't care. Warmaster is their
best game since Space Marine. 40k blows (I play it). I
prefer VOID for its clearer rules, use of d10 and unit
activation. The figs are nice too.
You should give Warmaster another try.
