Building Demolition
===================
The Basic Idea is that Large Buildings count as War Engines, except that
they must take a certain number of Blast Markers to destroy them,
rather than Hits as such.
Shooting at Buildings
=====================
Treat Buildings as having an armour value as given in the following
table (Note: This is only important when firing with an FP of 7 or
less, or with a MegaCannon or other Heavy Weapon)
Armour Hits (BMs) AF
Standard Imperial Construction 6 12 16
Standard Ork Construction 5 16 8
Light Building 4 16 4
City Wall 7 24 each 6cm section 50
Each standard building is the equivalent of 4 units. Thus a MegaCannon
with a template rolls 4 times to hit, and a Heavy Barrage has 8 FP.
If a building exceeds its BM count, roll immediately on the Catastrophic
Damage Table.
Close Combat of Buildings
=========================
Treat Buildings exactly as if they were War Engines, whose attack value
is equal to the Armour Value. Hits as such don't affect them, but
Critical
Hits do (see below). And they don't fight back.
FireFight Combat vs Buildings
=============================
Not relevant, ignore FireFights.
Collateral Damage
=================
When shooting at troops inside buildings, the Building itself is
"intermingled" with the unit being fired at, so Barrage Templates also
affect the building. Other firepower, including AT shots, don't. You
either fire at the building's foundations, or the units in the
buildings,
not both.
Critical Hit Table
==================
2-6 No effect
7-9 Fire! Take 1 additional Blast Marker per turn after this one, on
both
the building, and any occupants.
10 Undermined. Take 1 Blast Marker immediately on building and
occupants.
11 Section Collapse. Take D6 Blast Markers on building and occupants.
12 Catastrophic Damage
Catastrophic Damage Table
=========================
1-2 With a rumble, the building starts to collapse. Occupants
have time to escape.
3-4 Building suddenly starts to collapse. Occupants fail to escape
if they roll a 6.
5 Building immediately collapses. Treat any occupants
as if escaping from a KO'd vehicle.
6 Building collapses outwards. Any units within D6 cm takes a hit,
including those inside.
Example:
=======
A standard SM-2 Building is shot at by a group of Orks.
The first detachment has 10 FP, so does 1 BM.
The second detachment has 6 Pulsa Rockets and an FP of 7.
The 6 Pulsas score average, and do 3 BMs. The FP of 7 means,
against an immobile War Engine, 3 rolls. One succeeds with a 6,
so another BM is scored.
The third detachment has 6 Death Rays. 6 SHWs do 1 BM automatically.
The fifth detachment is a Gargant with a Heavy Weapons Battery and a
Megacannon. The HW Battery has an FP of 8, so does 1 BM. The Megacannon
causes an automatic BM, and of the 4 rolls associated with it "to hit"
the 4 notional units under the template, two score 6's, so another BM
is caused (for a single SHW causing a hit).
Total: 9 BMs. That's 8 rolls to see if there's a critical (needing 6),
and one automatic critical from the Death Ray BM.
None of the 8 rolls is a 6, and the Death Ray roll gets an 8, causing a
fire, which will add a BM each turn. This means that in 7 turns, the
building will collapse.
However, the Ork Gargant decides to go charging in with a Close Combat
Weapon. The Gargant's AF is 20, doubled for the Close Combat Weapon,
vs 16. However, there are some enemy units within 15cm of the building,
and they count as supports, bringing the total up to 19. Despite this,
the Gargant wins a "Forced Back" result, causing 2 additional BMs. But
this is irrelevant, as it automatically does Catastrophic Damage to a
War Engine if it wins, so roll on the Catastrophic Damage Table. A roll
of 2 means that the occupants have plenty of time to evacuate while the
Ripper Fist slices up the support beams.
Small Buildings
===============
Individual small buildings, such as bunkers, count as War Engines, and
unlike large buildings, are affected by hits. Any critical destroys
them.
