I remember wincing when I looked at Gav's troop selection for the TL
Orks vs. Imperials battle; after taking 3100 points of Gargants (1 Mega
and a Mob) he then filled the remaining 2900 points with troops from
*four* clans! Talk about weak breakpoints.... (Well, okay, mostly 3
clans, but the Mega was Bad Moonz and he took only a Weirdboy
Battletower under it. Still.)

Though you're right, taking Knight *detachments* against 'nids (I think
he did, anyway) is a good way to cough up VPs. Even the companies won't
do so well, though they have a chance of pinning a Dom... maybe....
