The story of the chiped armour is that Sanguis (his last action)took a blow at
Horus with his sword.The blow made a chip in Horus's armour.Sanguis was then
killed.In the later part of the fight between the emporer and horus the
Emporer took the final blow in that little space that had been chipped out in
Horus' armour at the same time Horus took the final blow to the Emporer.It
says that if it were not for the chip in Horus' armour then the Emporer would
have died and Horus would have been won. That is why whenever the Emperial
banner is flow whether it be on a fortress or a div the blood angels banner is
flown under it as a sighn of honor to the Emporers most loved and revered
primarch and hero.They rung the bell of heroes for him 5 times.
