That is one reason why I like the SM MK I rules for making up units.
You designed a regiment (One of several) of a legion. They also
included the important sub unit of Battalion. The current rules on unit
design (well, in fact the fluff in AoI) have a problem in that there is
not a level between company and chapter. It is a well know "fact" that
a commander should only command 3-5 other persons. Here is a more or
less real world example. (note this leaves out the support unit at the
higher level. This adds 2 subordinates to the div and Bde levels. This
is also only the INF side of the house, and ignores the tanks, guns and
all that.)

CG (2 star general)
    3 Bde/Rgt Cmd (COL)
        each 3 Bn cmd (LTC)
            each 4 company cmd (CPT)
                each 4 Plt leaders (LT)
                    each 4 squad leads (SGT)
                        2 fire teams (CPL)
                            each 4 grunts (PVT)

This, more or less, is what you would get if you get if you built 3
regiments using the rules in WD 126.
