Yeah, but those titans are worth *14* VPs each if he can
take them down, never mind that he'd be removing a good portion of
your firepower with each one destroyed. I think it's worth the cost.

No, but they're hardly inadequate. And they're mounted on
something you have to devote a signifgant amount of firepower to
in order to take out.
Sounds like your bug player is a lot like me as a chaos
player: very set in his ways. I don't really know what kind of
force you're taking (other than phantoms, probably a lot of falcons),
but it hardly sounds undefeatable by the bugs, assuming the tyranid
player is willing to experiment with different tactics/forces.
